Belle & Sebastian are an indie pop band formed in Glasgow, Scotland in January 1996. Belle & Sebastian have much in common with influential indie bands such as The Smiths and Felt, and have more recently taken in the influences of northern soul and funk. After releasing a number of albums and EPs on Jeepster Records, they are now signed to Rough Trade Records in the United Kingdom and Matador Records in the United States. Between the 70’s Funk grooves, Country guitar picking, and lullaby chorus lines. The Life Pursuit weaves in an out of rhythms with almost every measure. Musicians Bobby Kildea(bass), and Richard Colburn(drums) are one of the best rhythm sections in popular music to date. Chris Geddes(keyboards) synths are everywhere without pulling on the melody and being over bearing. Stevie Jackson, Stuart Murdoch, and Sarah Martin compliment each others vocals, tip-toeing behind whoever is in the lead. Together the sound is unforgettable.
